Bolivar, Missouri was selected as the "Safest Small Town in America" in 1995. Bolivar was also chosen as a member of the 100 Best Small Towns in America in 1996/1997. Towns all across the United States were compared in the areas of quality of life, education, economy, recreation, and sense of identity, and we are very proud to have been elected as one of the most pleasant small towns to live in.
